FAQs

  • $40 boarding fee per month allows you 1 gallon of milk per week.

$50 herd share fee every 6 months allows you to be apart of he herd share program.

    $8 per each additional gallon.

Because the sale of raw milk is illegal in KY, I cannot simply charge you $12 for each gallon of milk. These boarding fees and herd share fees are what protect me and are the key terms that allow me to provide you milk.

  • I accept cash, checks made out to Royalty Rock Farm, or Venmo @EmilyMRock. Payment is due at the first pick up of each month.

  • 7-10 days. Always transport your milk on ice in a cooler and store your milk in the back of your refrigerator NOT on the door. The warmer the milk gets, the sooner it will start to taste sour. Raw milk doesn’t expire like pasteurized milk, it changes form to a different product. To drink it plain, it typically will keep a creamy sweet flavor after 7-10 days in the fridge. After that, you can use what is left to make yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese, etc. Even though it won’t taste as great, it is still safe to consume after those 7-10 days.

  • Yes! Provide your own jar and you can pick up a 1/2 gallon to try at no charge.

  • My home in Bowlng Green, KY. I have two mini refrigerators on my back porch for easy pick up. Pick ups can be made anytime after 9am on your assigned pick up day. I also have a basket on top of the fridge to return your clean jars to. Please bring a cooler and keep the milk on ice if traveling more than 20 minutes.

  • Tractor Supply, Walmart, and Target carry 1/2 gallon mason jars. I love this 2 Pack of Gallon Jars on Amazon.

I will not fill dirty jars or jars that are not wide mouth 1/2 gallon or gallon size.

If you are getting 1 gallon per week, you will need 2 gallons worth of jars. You will pick up your jar/s full of milk and always bring clean jars to drop off at pick up so I will have them here to fill for the next weeks pick up.

  • HERDSHARE MEMBERS:

This is my home and I have other time commitments, please remember to have your jars here for me to fill. I can not always be home to refill your jars on the spot at pick up. Also please no loitering.

    FARM SCHOOL:

Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before our start time, I have other time commitments and cannot entertain on extra class time. I do not have a public restroom, so no need to arrive early to use the restroom.

  • As a reminder, this is my home and I do NOT have a public restroom, so please handle all business of that sort before you arrive. I ask that you arrive no earlier than 10 minutes prior to the start of our class time.

Parent/guardian/responsible adult MUST stay with the student the entirety of the class. This is a farm, so things may be smelly and muddy at times. Prepare to get dirty! I recommend rain boots and overalls.

Children can look forward to feeding donkeys and pigs, collecting chicken eggs, playing with a bunny, bottle feeding a calf, learn to milk a cow and making ice cream, and a kids tractor race!
